Sunset is very proud of the teams that went to the Oregon Game Programming Competition last weekend.  Sunset's strongest finish ever included three teams that placed:

Monday, May 17th, 6:30PM - Sunset Jazz Band performs live at Jimmy Mak's, Portland's top jazz club!  Join us for good food and great jazz. $5 cover includes Sunset and Dan Balmer.  Dan's performance starts at 8:00, and minors are welcome to stay for his first set. Sunset Jazz Lab – 1st Place at the 2010 Reno Jazz Festival (Class A)

Congratulations to the Sunset Jazz Lab and Director Greg Hall for placing 1st in Class A at the 2010 Reno Jazz Festival this past weekend. Below are links to their performances during competition and at the awards showcase on Saturday night. This is the first time in the school’s history that the Jazz Lab has placed 1st at this competition. Sunset was one of 14 bands in its classification. Go Sunset!!

The Grad Party Committee is planning a car wash fund raiser this Saturday, May 1 at the corner of Cornell Road and Saltzman from 10am to 2pm.  The proceeds go to seniors' grad party.  Hope to see you there!

Congratulations to Sunset's Pete Lukich, who was selected as the 2010 State Athletic Director of the Year.  Pere was instrumental this year the adoption of a new playoff system by OSAA.  Under his plan, every school will participate in the state playoffs.  This is a change from the current system that only permits the top four teams in the league to participate.  For these efforts, Pete was selected by his peers as the AD of the Year.
