Sunset High School's Booster Club has created the Excellence in Education Award to honor the contributions made by Sunset’s many fine staff members and to publicly express the value the Sunset community places on education as a profession. Supported this year by both the Booster Club and doctors at The Oregon Clinic, the award will include a $1,500 cash prize to be used for professional development purposes.
Any teacher or support staff member who has been a Sunset staff member for a minimum of three full years is eligible to receive the award. In addition, a staff member cannot be selected for the award if he or she has been a recipient in the last five years.
Nominees can include teachers, counselors, administrators, and any classified employee (secretary, custodian, campus supervisor, instructional aide, etc.). The award will be based on a combination of the following qualities:
• Cares about students
• Values student input and comments
• Always available for discussion
• Always available for student needs
• Always makes expectations clear and consistent
Please consider nominating a deserving staff member for this prestigious award. Nominations should include the name of the staff member and a description of his or her positive contributions to Sunset High School. All nominations should be sent via email to chris_bick@beavton.k12.or.us
and must be received by Thursday, May 20.
The award will be presented at the Senior Awards Assembly on
Thursday, June 3.
