Two teams of Sunset students recently competed in the 18th Annual Regional Science Bowl Tournament.  Science Bowl is a "Jeopardy" style competition where teams of students are challenged for their understanding of all aspects of science.  Team members include:

Team A - Rahul Dalal, Yushi Wang, Daniel Friesen, Nevedha Rajan, and Vivek Raman.

Team B - Ryan Choi, Brian Chia, Mechelle, and Jesse Hsu.

The Beaverton School District is grateful to Oregon voters who showed their strong support for education and other public services by passing Ballot Measures 66 and 67.  Passage of these two measures saved the Beaverton School District from making $19 million in budget reductions.

The February edition of the the Lantern is ready!

We welcome all prospective Sunset families to join us for the 8th Grade Curriculum Night.

Sunset's annual Cram the Stands for Cancer will occur Feb 3rd when girls play Aloha and Feb 5th when the boys play Jesuit.  Both games begin a 7:15 pm.

This event is a benefit for the fight against cancer at Doernbecher's.  T-shirts are on sale now for $10.

 

Sunset senior Samantha Potter was recently named a McDonald's All-American Candidate in girl's basketball for the 2009-10 season.  She has started each of the past four years, and she is currently averaging 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals per game.

Sunset's Molly Mettler is one of three Metro League soccer players that were recently named to the ESPNRISE.com Fall All-American Soccer teams for 2009.

Jesuit’s Sarah Bridges was named to the first team, while Jesuit’s Kristin DeGrandmont and Sunset’s Molly Mettler were both named to the third team.
