Booster News

Next Booster meeting is Monday, September 13 at 7pm in the community room (located next to the main office.

Who are the SHS Boosters?

SHS Boosters is the high school version of PTC/PTO.  We are a volunteer group made up of parents, educators, and community volunteers who support Sunset in many ways including planning and producing fundraising activities and family participation events for the benefit of all SHS students in their academics, arts, athletics, and activities.

All Are Welcome!

Participation in Boosters is open to all adults residing in the state of Oregon who are interested in supporting the students and activities of Sunset High School.  Come to our monthly meetings and offer input on any topic and/or become involved in any of the many committees of Boosters.  Getting involved with Boosters is a great way to keep up on the happenings at SHS while also making a valuable contribution to the school.

Booster Donations

S.O.S. (Supporters of Sunset) - Boosters invite you to make a tax-deductible donation to enhance student academics, athletics, and activities. These donations are matched with specific student/staff needs at Sunset. (click here for more details)

Escrip at Safeway & Macy’s - If you already have a Safeway Club Card or Macy’s charge card, simply register on-line at www.escrip.com. After clicking on sign up, choose Group ID. Our school Group ID# is 8567200. When you fill in the requested information, your Club Card/Macy’s card will automatically be encoded with Sunset High School, so every time you use either card, a percentage of your purchase will be donated to SHS Boosters. In the 2009-2010 school year, Boosters received over $3,200 from Safeway purchases.

Do The Math Recycling Service - Albertson’s and Thriftway grocery stores have bins where you can recycle used inkjet cartridges and cell phones. Go to the store, find the recycling bin, mark the item with the SHS code number provided at the bin and drop it in. These stores donate up to $15 for old cell phones!

Volunteering at Sunset High School

Get Started Volunteering....

Step 1:

BSD Volunteering Background Check:

All Volunteers need to complete this short information form online.

Note:  If you have an approved background check submitted through any school in the BSD since it started requiring background checks in 2008, you don't need to request a new one.  If you are not sure, contact the Volunteer Coordinator.

Step 2:

Fill out our Booster Volunteer Form.  Return Form to SHS main office or email to our Volunteer Coordinator: Kathy Sabin.

Sunset Volunteer needs are sent out via email.  After you turn in the Volunteer Form, you will automatically receive emails from our Volunteer Coordinator when needs arise.
